Requirements for New Members of the Board of Directors
The Technology Alliance Group for Kawartha Lakes (TAG) needs open minded, community-oriented individuals who have a vision of technology’s vital role in making this the best place to live, work and play. As a TAG board member you will participate in developing and implementing a comprehensive technology plan for our community that will benefit individuals and businesses through advancement of technology.
TAG’s objectives are:
- To enable local businesses and residents to use current communication technologies;
- To increase public awareness concerning the availability of technology and its uses;
- To encourage involvement of key community partners in development of technology infrastructure planning through inclusive membership; and
- To provide a method for citizens of the community to access vital local information.
In being considered as an applicant for the Board of Directors of the Technology Alliance Group for Kawartha Lakes (TAG), the individual should:
- Have a general understanding of the community and the economic climate of the City of Kawartha Lakes
- Enhance and support the objective of a strong geographic/regional representation throughout the City by the Board
- Have an interest in increasing public awareness concerning the availability of technology and its uses
- Be interested in enabling local businesses and residents to use current communication technologies
- Interested in providing a method for citizens of the community to access vital local information
- Be able to commit up to a minimum of 5 hours per month to volunteer to the organization; said participation could include attendance at Board and Committee meetings, as appropriate and functions of the organization
- Be 18 or more years of age
- The majority of board members must be citizens of good standing within the community of the City of Kawartha Lakes.
