About Technology Alliance Group for Kawartha Lakes

The Technology Alliance Group for Kawartha Lakes (TAG), incorporated in November of 2001, is a charitable non-profit organization comprised of a team of experts, and directed by a volunteer Board of Directors. TAG’s mission is to promote and support continuing technology advancement within the City of Kawartha Lakes and beyond.

TAG has a track record for successfully managing projects with a community-based, networking approach. One of TAG's mandates is to provide programming to members of the community who are isolated or experience barriers in accessing services. TAG has a proven ability to facilitate alliances with organizations that have common interests, which is the key to the successful implementation of many projects.

TAG enables local businesses and residents to use current information technologies, increases public awareness concerning the availability of technology and its uses, and provides a method for citizens of the community to access vital local information.

TAG’s ultimate goal is to improve the lives of local residents by transforming the way people do business and how they access services. TAG believes that education is the best way to break the cycle of poverty. Our aim is to help those in need by providing them with a way to develop skills through computer education.

A local Family lost their home in a fire.

Unfortunately the family did not have insurance. One of their 3 children has a learning disablity and used special computer functions to have her homework read out loud to her. TAG was able to donate a computer system to the family with software and speakers and now she can do her homework again.
